Making Christ Known:

“To Know Him and make Him Known” (Cor.2:2)

Make Christ known among our children by building upon our current Sunday School, Confirmation and other Christian Education programs by:

Insuring that the curriculum is unified in approach through the various grade levels and creative in expression, so that God’s story can be clearly shared and understood by all;
Seek ways to make better connections between Sunday School and Sunday Worship;
Providing adequate resources, materials and technologies for our teachers and students to accomplish our goals.

Build upon our existing Junior Luther League and Luther League programs to enable greater participation among our youth, and promote deeper involvement in the life of our congregation.

Work to establish a Young Adult Program that will be led by young adults to provide fellowship, study and service opportunities for single and married persons within this age group.

Explore opportunities for adult education, led by lay members, to strengthen the faith of our congregation.

Explore the possibility of starting a St. John’s Christian Pre-School for ages 3-5.

Explore the possibility of hiring a part-time Christian Education and Youth Ministry Director to help the congregation implement these goals.

Making Christ Loved:

Following Christ’s Example, we share God’s Love with all people

Within the traditional Sunday gathering around the Word of God and the Holy Sacraments, to explore ways to make worship musically diverse and exciting.

Expand our ministry opportunities by seeking individuals who are willing to serve our congregation and our community.

Develop an organized approach to welcoming, mentoring and acclimating new members into the life of our congregation, and the many volunteer ministry and service opportunities that are available.

Making Christ Served:

To fulfill God’s will through Service to all.

Continue to look for opportunities to extend the outreach ministries of our congregation into the local community so that the “least of our brothers and sisters” may be served.

Continue to provide adequate and necessary care and maintenance of the church property that God has given to us, and consider necessary improvements and changes as resources permit.
